Peter and some of the brethren from Joppa left to visit JCornelius. Peter was unsure what God was doing, but it was obviously something new. This was an awkward situation - it was unusual for a devout Jew to socialize with Gentiles or even enter their homes. Jews had at many times been lead to sin through casual contact with Gentiles. However, Peter used this as an opportunity to share the story of Yeshua because he saw that the Gospel was meant for the Gentiles too (that Yeshau's blood had been "poured out for many"). If God was breaking down the social barriers between Jews and Gentiles, what other things might change as well?
